About Chef Kim

I’m a classically trained professional chef with over 25 years of experience. My passion and love of cooking started when I was ten. Spending time in the kitchen watching my aunts and grandmother cook for our family showed me the delight and satisfaction that can come from taking care of people. I would help them prepare big Polish, Irish and Italian meals with love and pride. Today, I still get so much satisfaction when I see a look of joy on someone’s face when they are enjoying a meal that I’ve prepared.

My Story

After apprenticing in country clubs and small family-owned restaurants, I moved up to corporate food service and spent nine years as an executive chef. I finally made the leap into private cooking service 15 years ago and it’s clear that it’s where I belong. I so enjoy being a part of the lives of families who depend on me to deliver fresh, healthy food daily. The catering side of my business makes me equally happy – who does not love throwing a party?

 

Both my home delivered meal service and catering give me a wonderful creative outlet and I pride myself in giving my clients personalized service every step of the way. I promise my clients attention to detail, and flexibility and I treat each client like family.  

 

I love to travel.  I have spent considerable time in Italy, France, Switzerland, and England along with many other European countries. I have been to almost all of the states in our country. I love exploring the culinary scene in different countries and can get lost in supermarkets across the globe. There is something so serene about spending hours wandering farm markets and out of the way food purveyors. Going to a farm to watch goat cheese being made, learning how olive oil is pressed or sampling just-pulled-from-the-earth veggies is fantastic.

I am a voracious reader and have a cookbook collection that rivals large libraries.  I am constantly continuing my culinary education through classes, lectures, and seminars. I have a wide range of culinary expertise. I have experience in many cuisines and dietary needs including Italian, French, Mexican, Asian and Mediterranean. I have cooked for adults, children, the elderly, politicians, rock stars, acclaimed writers and UHNW individuals. I am open, adaptable, and very even-tempered.  I am extremely flexible and reliable.  I give 150% to my clients and to my craft.

I tend to be quiet in the kitchen and like to remain behind the scenes. Praise and accolades are amazing and much appreciated, but not necessary for me to know that I do my job very well. A clean plate or requests for second helpings warms my soul and are all the praise I need.
